Vittoria Yeo has studied with Raina Kabaivanska

Born in Seoul (South Korea), she began her musical studies in her native city. After graduating in opera singing from Seokyeog University in Seoul, she moved to Italy to continue her studies and obtained a diploma from the “Arrigo Boito” Conservatory in Parma and then from Accademia Chigiana, Siena. She is currently studying with soprano Raina Kabaivanska at Istituto Musicale “Vecchi – Tonelli”, where she has already graduated with full marks and special mention in voice from the second level coaching course.

She has won a large number of international competitions, including “Città di Magenta”, “Città di Brescia”, “Ismaele Voltolini”, “La Città Sonora”, “Magda Olivero”, “Pietro Mongini” and “Maria Malibran”, and already has a busy concert career. She has performed with orchestras including Filarmonia Arturo Toscanini, Parma, Bulgarian National Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestra del Teatro Regio, Parma.

For Teatro Regio, Parma she has sung Musetta in La bohème and Gilda in Rigoletto for the Imparolopera project; she has also sung Leonora in a concert version of Verdi’s Il Trovatore at the Sarzana Opera Festival (2012).

She subsequently made her first appearance in the role of Cio-cio-san in Madama Butterfly for the Teatro Nuovo, Salsomaggiore, at Teatro Cagnoni, Vigevano and at Teatro Verdi, Fiorenzuola (2013) and then as Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s Macbeth in a production by Cristina Mazzavillani Muti at the Ravenna Festival.

She is much in demand for concerts, and also sang at the “Pavarotti nel cuore” concert held in Modena’s Piazza Grande to mark the anniversary of Pavarotti’s death in 2011, and at the Bel Canto concert for the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation in 2013.

She has recently sung at Teatro Regio, Parma in the Festival Verdi in a concert with orchestra to present finalists from the 52nd Voci Verdiane Competition in Busseto, at Teatro Goldoni in Florence in a concert to celebrate the 90th birthday of Rolando Panerai, organised by Teatro Comunale, Florence, and in her debuts as Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte and as Liù in Turandot.

She starred in a concert version of Verdi’s Ernani at the Salzburg Festival conducted by Riccardo Muti, and is to appear in Macbeth in Stockholm under the same conductor.
